Rescued Girls: Group Urges FG to Disregard UN Compassionate Abortion Call

A Group, under the aegis of Civil Society Organisation Integrity Forum has urged the Federal Government to disregard calls by the United Nations to grant “compassionate abortion” to the pregnant women and girls, recently rescued from Boko Haram captivity.

The group noted that babies parented to bad guys should not be condemned to untimely death because “being bad” was a product of environment and fanaticism of any kind, not genetically-inherited.

According to Dr. Odah Angela who spoke on behalf of the group yesterday in Abuja, the babies conceived in violence were innocent of any wrong doing and they were human beings made in the image and likeness of God, “They deserve a chance at life.”

She stated that the United Nations and Parenthood Federation were not really interested in the welfare of the pregnant women and girls rescued from captivity, adding that the call by the representative of the UN…
